The rough cut was extremely basic and needed an intense amount of work, as there were many areas for improvement. The final video was officially complete around a week later. This was done due to the fact that the group decided, as a whole, that we could produce a work of art, something much better. We agreed on the faults in the rough cut/initial video, and eventually suggested solutions we could use to eliminate these, almost 'errors'. One example of an error in the rough cut, includes a slow cutting rate. Having a slow cutting rate suggested that there were hardly any cut a way's due to the obscene amount of lyrics, but also very long clips of the same shot, which not only meant that the video was quite boring but it didn't always cut on the beat. This problem was solved by; adding more clips into that section, syncing them to the lyrics, cutting the lengthy clips down, and therefore allowing the video to cut back and forth to clips.
Other improvements made are listed below:
- Visual Effects
- Text on the screen (name, song title, producers)
- Synced better. Some clips from the rough cut weren't synced properly
- Re-shoots. Allowed us to remove any old footage that wasn't working very well, whether it was; blurry, had bad lighting, or lack of effort from the actors (due to fatigue), and replace them with better clips.
